Websites Help in Many Ways
As a professional in the film industry, I had not realized how important and beneficial creating your own website was to my career, until I made it. Having my own website has allowed me to truly connect with my audience on a more personal note, where you guys can read my posts, leave comments or messages, and have the freedom to converse with me!
I decided to have a conversion with another expert in the field, Irvin Lira, to see what their opinions were on the subject at hand.
Here’s what they said:
Me: “Creating a website, in my opinion, is one of the fundamentals when entering the marketing world. Even if it’s for something like blogging, it teaches you how to find your target audience and connect with them. Do you think creating your own website is important in the marketing world?”
Irvin Lira: “Yes, I do think it’s an important skill to have in the marketing world. Not only is it important because of the reasons you mentioned but it also teaches you patience. A great website isn’t built in a few hours. It takes a few days to make it presentable. I think it’s also important because it helps build out your brand and portfolio to potential employers. Not only is it an important tool for marketing, but it’s also important in different industries.”
Me: “That’s a great way of looking at it. Likewise, it also took me countless hours and multiple days to fully construct my website, and even then I’m still trying to fix the little things that bother me. Out of curiosity, what for you was the most challenging or difficult aspect of creating your website?”
Irvin Lira: “The most challenging aspect of building my website was making sure every button worked and designing the aesthetic that matched the look I was going for. Since my website was a gaming website, focused on the three main consoles (Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation), I had a hard time creating a look/feel that would capture the attention of my target audience. It had to look and feel like a gaming website.”
Me: “And finally, what creative or design tips would you give to someone right now who is looking to make their own website?”
Irvin Lira: “Find the design that you believe will appeal to your target audience. For example, if your website is a gaming site, like mine, don’t make it too bland. It has to have some color. Because the video game industry is a creative industry, be a little creative with the look that you’re looking for. Don’t be afraid to ask any of the AI agents for help as that definitely helped me define the color and design of my website.”
All in all, it is very evident that no matter the industry or profession you’re currently in, or hope to be in one day, creating, designing, and owning your very own website will help you and your career in a ton of ways. From connecting with your audience, to even other industry professionals and employers.
The sky is the limit with website creation, so don’t hesitate to create your own right now!
